A UNIQUE AREA WITH UNIQUE CUISINE
Everything starts from clear blue seas and high mountains…
Liguria,
a region of northwest Italy, is part of the Italian
Riviera; most known for the Cinque Terre and
Portofino areas. Like every section of Italy,
Liguria has a rich culinary history relying on their
own freshly grown products.
The mild Mediterranean
climate, mountain-
ous terrain, and costal location,
influence the culinary landscape as much as the
geographical. Gastronomy is dominated by the use of
seafood, olive oil, herbs, and vegetables. This
cuisine is complimented by the regions white wine
produced from Vermentino and Pigato grapes, and red
wine from Dolcetto and Rossese grapes. The
most representative Ligurian culinary creations are
pesto and focaccia.
A Taste of Italy is truly an expression of Ligurian
cuisine and in particular, of Lunigiana and Golfo
dei Poeti. |
